Front Porch Chocolate Coffee Protein Shake

A Quick Diabetes-Friendly Breakfast for Busy Mornings

Chocolate, coffee, and protein come together for a simple breakfast that fits real life.

Pull Up a Chair...

Not every morning starts with a big breakfast.

Some mornings are busy. Some mornings you need something quick, easy, and filling before starting your day.

For me, a protein shake is often the realistic choice. I love chocolate, so the chocolate Glucerna Hunger Smart powder is my go-to option when I need a fast breakfast that still feels satisfying.

I used to make this with coffee concentrate, but I wanted to create a version that anyone could make using regular brewed coffee from their own kitchen.

Because diabetes-friendly living has to fit into real life.

So grab your favorite cup, pull up a chair, and enjoy a simple Front Porch morning.

From My Front Porch ❤️

Not every breakfast has to be complicated.

Sometimes taking care of yourself looks like five minutes, a small blender, and a breakfast you can actually stick with.

Michelle's Morning Shortcut 🥤

I use a small personal blender that I keep just for my morning shakes. It was inexpensive, easy to clean, and the perfect size for a single serving.

You do not need a fancy kitchen setup to make a quick breakfast that works for you.

Front Porch Tips

  • Brew extra coffee and keep it refrigerated for an easy morning shake.
  • Add more ice if you prefer a thicker shake.
  • Love chocolate like Michelle? A little sugar-free chocolate syrup makes it feel like a treat.
  • No blender? A shaker bottle can work too — just make sure your coffee is cooled first.

Front Porch Variations

  • Chocolate Mocha Shake: Add sugar-free mocha syrup.
  • Vanilla Coffee Shake: Use vanilla protein powder or vanilla syrup.
  • Cinnamon Coffee Shake: Add cinnamon for a warm coffeehouse flavor.
